Meet our Founder,
Dr. Theodore Kadet
Dr. Theodore Kadet, OD, OVDRA founded Hope Clinic in 1983 with a deep commitment to helping patients and families find answers when vision challenges were getting in the way of school, work, sports, or everyday life.
Over the years, Dr. Kadet became known for his thoughtful approach, his dedication to clinical excellence, and his heart for people. He built Hope Clinic into a trusted resource for families seeking vision therapy and visual rehabilitation—supporting patients through personalized care and long-term relationships.

Dr. Kadet passed away in 2025 and is greatly missed. We honor his legacy with gratitude and continue the work he devoted his life to—helping people strengthen visual skills and experience greater confidence in everyday life.

Continuing the Mission with Dr. Ben Winters

After Dr. Kadet’s passing, the practice entered a new chapter—one built on the same mission and values, with a continued commitment to caring deeply for the people and families we serve.
Benjamin (Ben) Winters, OD, FOVDR is the Owner and Clinical Director of Hope Clinic. With more than 15 years of experience in vision care and vision therapy, Dr. Winters combines advanced clinical expertise with a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
Dr. Winters is board certified in vision development, vision therapy, and neuro-optometric rehabilitation through the Optometric Vision Development and Rehabilitation Association (OVDRA). He has completed extensive post-graduate training in binocular vision disorders, strabismus, amblyopia, and brain injury rehabilitation, including over 100 hours through the Robert Sanet Vision Therapy program.
He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry and completed his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Winters is the co-founder of Emergent, a company that provides vision therapy equipment, training, and consulting to clinics around the world. Through this work, he has developed and taught comprehensive training programs in vision therapy and practice management that have been utilized by clinicians in more than 20 countries. As an international lecturer, he regularly presents to doctors, therapists, and educators, focusing on practical strategies that translate into better patient outcomes and stronger vision therapy practices.
Families often arrive at Hope Clinic after months or years of unanswered questions. Dr. Winters is known for taking the time to listen, clearly explain findings, and help patients and parents feel confident in the care plan ahead.
As a husband and father of five, Dr. Winters understands how vision challenges affect everyday life—at home, at school, and at work. This perspective shapes his care, keeping the focus on meaningful, real-life progress for each patient.
